The supposed 3-4 foot 2x4 that was used in the so called "Hazing" of the EKU Freshman Rugby player was originally manufactured to fit a beer pong table 3 yrs ago which was used in a beer pong tournament. I am not nor have I ever been a member of the EKU rugby team. "Betsy" is a 27.5 inch 2x4 . I was a manger of a Bar & Grill where we hosted a Beer Pong Tournament in which I had invited the whole Rugby team to participate 3 yrs ago. There have been many if not the majority of people that have their name on "Betsy" not affiliated with the Rugby team. Even though they did not win the event, I told them to take a piece of the table as a token of my appreciation for their involvement. "Betsy" which has no jagged edges or nails and screws has nothing to do with the EKU Rugby team Brother hood! But is in fact a piece of wood with 100's of Students, friends and Madison Co. residents names on it. The whole theory behind "Betsy" was if you signed her you got one smack on the butt by her! Nothing hard or meant to inflict pain, or cause injury, or used to consider yourself a part of a "Brother Hood"! More just as something as a memory that would be passed down through out the EKU Rugby team as many different clubs do. If you would like to contact me for comment I would be glad to respond! Just leave a comment and I will contact you. Thank you for your time.
