Update: EKU Police Make Arrest After Dorm Evacuation

EKU Police said they charged Jacob Walker with Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree in connection with a suspicious device found in a dormitory elevator.
Eastern Kentucky University Police said they arrested Jacob Walker, a first semester freshman at EKU, and charged him with Terroristic Threatening in the 1st Degree after an incident in a residence hall on campus Monday afternoon.

EKU Police responded to Palmer Hall, a dormitory for freshman, a little after 4:00 p.m., after residents said there was a mini-fridge found duct taped shut with a note attached to it in one of the elevators.

Police did not specify what the note said.

The building was evacuated and a State Police Bomb Squad was called in to inspect the mini-fridge.

After almost two hours, authorities said they discovered there was nothing dangerous found in the mini-fridge and students were allowed to return to the building by approximately 6:00 p.m.

EKU Police said they were still investigating the incident and that more arrests could be made.
