The Whitley County Coroner has ruled that a Corbin man who went missing on Monday killed himself.
The Whitley County Coroner has ruled that a man who went missing on Monday committed suicide.

The general ABC 36 News policy is not to report suicides.  But, in this instance the story began as a missing person's case followed by a very public search that was widely reported on television, radio and online, so we felt an update was warranted.

Police said Richard Martin, 63, of Corbin rode off into the woods Monday morning on an ATV following an argument with his wife.  He was reported missing that evening.

An exhaustive three day search came to an end Wednesday afternoon when Martin's body was found in an isolated wooded area near Laurel Lake, not far from his home.

On Thursday, the Whitley County Coroner reported that Martin had shot himself to death on Monday.  The death has been ruled a suicide.
