Update: Both Sides React to House Bill 297 Veto

Both sides say it either infringes on freedom of religion or civil rights.
It's one of our nation's 'foggiest' issues where does freedom of religion end and where do civil rights begin?

On Friday Governor Beshear decided House Bill 297 didn't do a clear enough job drawing a line between the two.

The premise of the bill was to ensure religious freedoms could not be infringed upon, however the Governor said the vague language of the legislation could potentially lead to infringement of civil rights.

Kentucky has not heard the end of the legislation yet.

Those in favor of the bill feel lawmakers will override the veto this session.

Opponents of the bill say the veto should stand and let the state review the matter in a year.
