State Police arrested a Bracken County man in connection to an arson at a nursing home in Carlisle.

Investigators said Michael A. Thomas, 30, of Germantown, was charged with Arson 1st Degree for intentionally setting a fire at the Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home in Nicholas County last weekend.

State Police said he was arrested at his home without incident.

The fire chief said the fire was set in a locked Alzheimer's unit by an employee, who then put the fire out to possibly make himself look like a hero.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Thomas was lodged in the Mason County Detention Center.
