Police said a murder suspect was waiting for his victim to show up to work Friday morning before gunning him down on a busy Somerset street.
Police said a murder suspect was waiting for his victim to show up to work Friday morning before gunning him down on a busy Somerset street.

According to investigators, Mark Stanziano, 57, didn’t stand a chance.

Police said the well-known defense attorney was shot around 8:00 outside of his law office on West Mt. Vernon Street.

A detective was reportedly in the area and witnessed the shooting, but was too far away to stop it.

Police said the detective arrested Clinton Inabnitt, 40, right after the shooting.

According to investigators, Stanziano was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after 9:00 a.m.

Inabnitt was charged with murder.

Somerset Police said Inabnitt lived across the street from Stanziano's office.

According to the police citation, Inabnitt told officers he shot Stanziano because the attorney wouldn’t help him with a problem.

Police said Inabnitt and Stanziano talked Thursday night.

Investigators said that after Stanziano said he couldn’t help, Inabnitt threatened him.

Police wouldn’t go into detail about the threat or what Inabnitt was asking Stanziano about.
