UPDATE: Court Records Show Powell County Clerk Arrested For DUI Has Been In Trouble Before

Court documents showed that Powell County Clerk Rhonda Barnett, who was arrested and charged with DUI at the courthouse on Tuesday, pleaded guilty to alcohol intoxication in a case two and a half years ago.
ABC 36 News learned that Powell County Clerk Rhonda Barnett, who was arrested and charged with DUI at the courthouse on Tuesday, had been in trouble with the law in the past.

Court documents showed Barnett pleaded guilty to alcohol intoxication in a case from December 2011.

The documents showed Barnett was charged two and a half years ago after showing up at the jail to pick someone up smelling of alcohol and that she admitted to authorities that she had been drinking.

The documents showed that she wasn't given a field sobriety test for her own safety to which she was quoted as saying, “I could not do these tests even if I was sober."

Her most recent arrest citation from July 15, 2014, said drugs were involved.

Barnett was not at work Wednesday, but the County Clerk’s Office said she was expected back on Thursday.

Barnett is due in court July 29th.

ABC 36 News tried to reach Barnett at her home, but was unsuccessful.
