Meth and other drugs have been ruled out in a fatal shooting that occurred during a turkey hunt Thursday morning, according to the Clay County Sheriff.

"We have chased down leads from meth labs to pot patches and have found no link," said Sheriff Kevin Johnson. "This is a horrible accident with a tragic outcome."

The shooting, which reportedly happened as three men approached a ridge, took the life of 28-year-old Brian Griffin.

Another hunter who was also hit is currently at UK Hospital in stable condition.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating what exactly took place.
