University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto will not receive a bonus.

The Board of Trustees reviewed his performance after a year in charge.

The Board Chairman told the Lexington Herald-Leader that Capilouto had earned the bonus, based on a scoring system UK uses.

But the Board decided against the bonus anyway because of UK’s tight budget.

According to the newspaper, the Board offered some constructive criticism.

It said communications could have been better during the recent announcement of layoffs.
