500 delegates and exhibitors will gather for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators’ 55th Annual Conference.
LEXINGTON, Ky. ― Nearly 500 delegates and exhibitors will gather in Louisville, Ky., for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators’ (IACLEA) 55th Annual Conference and Exposition from Friday, June 28, through Tuesday, July 2, at the Louisville Downtown Marriott/Kentucky International Convention Center. The University of Kentucky Police Department is hosting this year's conference.

IACLEA’s Annual Conference is the premier event for campus public safety leaders. Among the speakers are law enforcement officials who were involved in two of the nation's most recent mass shooting tragedies in Aurora, Colo. and Newtown, Conn.

The five-day meeting draws an international audience. Twenty-four individuals from outside of the United States will join colleagues for educational sessions designed around tracks, including: Management/Staff Development, Technology, Planning and Preparedness, and General Campus Law Enforcement topics. In addition to educational workshops, the meeting features general sessions, an exhibit area with products and services for the campus public safety community, awards and recognition, as well as special events.

“The dedication of volunteers is paramount in any strong and dynamic association. IACLEA is fortunate and grateful for the many people who have worked together to ensure the success of this year’s event, especially the Annual Conference Committee, University of Kentucky Host Committee, speakers, sponsors, and of course, our attendees,” said Chris Blake, chief staff officer of IACLEA.

UK Police is hosting the conference during a time when it is overseeing a $4.8 million expansion of campus security with installation of a multi-faceted high-tech system of video monitoring, wide area outdoor and indoor emergency notification and centralized building access control.

"The University of Kentucky Police Department is excited to have been selected to host the 2013 IACLEA Conference, whereby we will have the chance to network with university police and security executives from around the globe," said UK Police Chief Joe Monroe. "It gives us a chance to see what other schools are doing as well as showcase the changes that we have undertaken."
