UK Pediatricians Study Internet Addiction

Other nations around the world consider media addiction a diagnosable condition.
UK Pediatricians are studying whether people, especially young generations can be addicted to forms of media.

Dr. Stephanie Stockburger says in other nations like China, media addiction is a diagnosable condition and is even treated with forms of rehab.

Dr. Stockburger says research is still being conducted here in the US to see if media addiction will be classified as a diagnosable addiction.

She says parents should monitor how much their children use media like computers, smart phones and video games.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should spend no more than two hours a day using media, and children under two should have no exposure to media at all.
