The University of Kentucky Board of Trustees voted to raise tuition by 6% Tuesday.
The motion was passed unanimously, with two abstentions from faculty trustees.
The increase means that in-state students will be paying $9,676 per year instead of $9,176.
University President Eli Capilouto said that this is part of a two-year budget process, being put in place largely because of state funding cuts.
