Compare Kentucky's defense numbers for the first two games.

UK vs. Louisville and UK vs. Kent State.

The Cats gave up 219 yards rushing to the Cards and 247 through the air.  Not good.  Final score, 32-14 Louisville.

Against Kent State, the Cats 'D' allowed 182 yards on the ground and 227 through the air.  Still not good.  Final score, 47-14 Kentucky.
