UK Baseball: Snubbed?

Bat Cats not hosting NCAA regional. Await fate until tomorrow's ESPNU unveiling of entire bracket at noon.
The UK baseball team went 43-16 in regular season play.  The Bat Cats started 22-0, including a sweep of two-time, defending College World Series champ, South Carolina.

UK's conference record: 18-12.  SEC series wins, in addition to South Carolina, came against Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, LSU (regular season conference champ) and Ole Miss.  Conference series losses included Vandy, Florida and getting swept by Miss State to end the season.

The Bulldogs and Commodores made it to the SEC Tournament Championship game.  Florida meanwhile, lost in the semis to Vandy.  Making the in theory collapse at the end of the season by the Cats look more like losses to the 3 best teams in the conference.

Overall, Kentucky dropped 10 of its' last 18 games in all, including the SEC tournament.

Take into account all of the above, and the NCAA says it isn't enough to host a regional site.  The Cats RPI is 14.  Strength of schedule: 43.  16 teams host a regional site, and the Cats didn't make the cut.

They could still be a number one seed in another regional, but right now, UK is feeling a little disrespected by not getting the host site.

The full bracket is released tomorrow at noon on ESPNU.
