Two men are in the hospital, one in critical condition, after a shooting early this morning at a Lexington Waffle House restaurant.

Police got a call about a large disorder at the Waffle House on Georgetown Road just before 3:00 Sunday morning.

While police were on their way, the call was updated.  Police say they were told shots were fired in the parking lot.

When police arrived, they say they didn’t find anyone who had been shot but later got a call two people were brought to UK Hospital with gunshot wounds.

One victim went right into surgery and police tell us is in critical condition.

“We were told it was a rather large disorder and we don’t know exactly what happened that led to these two being shot, if this was a situation where they were hit by stray bullets, were they shooting at each other, that’s something the detectives are still trying to figure out,” said Chris Van Brackel with Lexington Police.

Lexington Police are still investigating.  They’re looking at surveillance video from inside the restaurant and asking anyone who was at the restaurant last night but ran off when the shots were fired, to call with any information they may have.
