Firefighters said two people made it out of their homes safely in Lexington during a fire.

It happened just before 2:00 Thursday afternoon at a housing unit on North Broadway.

Firefighters said one of the two people who were home at the time had previous health problems and had to be escorted out of the building.

Crews cut the building's utilities off as a precaution while they investigated the fire.

The department said that people lived in five of the seven units.

They were displaced for the night because of the electricity.

No word yet on what started the fire.

But investigators said it did not appear suspicious.
