Two people need a new place to stay after an apartment fire in Lexington.

The fire department says it started just before 7:30 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex on Redding Road.

Fire crews say it began in the hallway of one apartment.

Two people in that apartment got out.

But investigators say they'll have to stay somewhere else because of the damage.

The fire was contained to the one unit.

The cause for the fire hasn't been released.
