Two Fayette County Sheriff's deputies pleaded not guilty Friday in a theft case against the pair as well as another deputy.
Deputy Merle McDaniel is charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking. Former deputy Bill Beers is charged with two counts of theft by failure to make required disposition-felony and one count of theft by failure to make required disposition-misdemeanor.
Another current deputy, Chris Tudor, has been charged with second-degree official misconduct relating to his duties at the Office of the Sheriff.
McDaniel and Beers made their pleas during a court appearance Friday.
