Two people are found dead after a possible murder suicide in Washington County.

It happened at a home on Brush Grove Road in Willisburg.

State Police said that Washington County dispatch received a call around 10:15 p.m. Sunday after a man allegedly threatened to kill himself.

Shortly after, a second call came in. In this call, police were told that someone had been shot inside the home, but two people escaped and made it to a neighbor’s house.

State Police were called in to help with the investigation. Officials were left waiting the home for hours when they couldn’t make contact with anyone inside.

Around 3:30 a.m. Monday, the State Police Special Response Team entered the home and found a man and a woman dead inside.

Those victims have been identified as William Woodford, 52, and Woodford’s mother in-law, Phyllis Tarter, 58.

William Woodford’s Wife, Debbie Woodford, and his 17-year-old stepson fled the residence and were not injured.
