Richmond Police: Two Children Found in Room With Man Who Overdosed

Richmond Police say two children and their mother were found in a room with a man who died of a drug overdose. The mother has been arrested on drug related charges.
Richmond Police have arrested the mother of a four and six year-old after they say her children were found in a bedroom with a man who overdosed on drugs.

Twenty-two year-old Kristen Johnson of Franklin, Ohio is charged with wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police say they found syringes, a glass pipe and what they believe to be crack cocaine also in the room with her children.

Police say the man died on the scene. They say the toxicology report found multiple drugs in his system.

Officials have yet to release the man's name, but say he is not from Kentucky either.

The resident of the home on Dixie Plaza where the incident occurred, says she's a distant relative of the man who died. She says the victim was the father of the children and that all four were staying at her home for the night.

Police say the children are in custody of social services.

Johnson also has a warrant out for her arrest in Boone County for failure to appear in court.
