Two people have been arrested and charged in the murder of a man in Lexington last month.

According to a police citation, 21-year-old Juan Chavarria and 22-year-old Joseph Sales were taken into custody on Wednesday. They have both been charged with murder and robbery.

Police say the two are behind the death of 33-year-old Saul Perez Ruiz.

Ruiz was shot several times in an apartment on Dinsmore Drive last month.

Someone else living at the apartment with Ruiz told police he heard a knock at the door, then gunfire.

Ruiz died at the scene.

In the citation, police say in the course of their investigation they found evidence of a robbery that linked the two suspects to the murder.

Witnesses at the scene the morning of that murder say they saw four men in a silver SUV nearby.

No word if police are looking for other suspects.
