Two Charged In Connection To Rape Of Teenager

A man and woman were arrested in Lexington after police said they were both involved in the rape of a 15-year-old girl.

Michael Lively, 37, and Najla Lively, 22, were arrested Wednesday.

Court documents don’t specify when or where the incident took place but police said Najla Lively was friends with the victim and she picked her up and brought her to Michael Lively, who is accused of raping the teenager.

According to the police citation, Najla Lively was present during the rape and she took the girl home afterward.

Police said the girl became pregnant as a result. That pregnancy was later terminated and a DNA test showed that Michael Lively was the father.

He is charged with rape while Najla Lively is charged with complicity to rape.

Both have since bonded out of jail and are scheduled to be arraigned in court Thursday.
