Truck Driver Burned In Fiery Collision With Train In Pulaski County

A truck driver was burned Friday afternoon when the semi he was driving collided with a train and caught fire on Highway 2227 in Pulaski County, according to the Sheriff's Office.
A truck driver was burned Friday afternoon when the semi he was driving collided with a train on Highway 2227 in Pulaski County, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said the semi exploded in flames when the diesel fuel ignited upon impact.

The accident happened in front of Warner Fertilizer.

A nearby water park was evacuated briefly as a precaution after a large, black plume of smoke filled the air at the crash site.

Investigators said debris from the collision was spread several hundred feet.

The injured truck driver was rushed to UK Hospital in Lexington.

His name was not released.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
