State Police say a man shot an alleged burglar in Garrard County.

Troopers were called to a home on Jennings Road in the Cartersville area just before 4:00pm Monday.

The man who lived there reportedly told police he had found a burglar inside his home and had shot at the intruder with his shotgun.

Investigators say they later found 26-year-old Jarred Pitman across KY 954 on Day Road.

Troopers say Pitman had a gunshot wound and was taken to UK Hospital for treatment.

Police say he's facing burglary charges.
