In order to replace a damaged drainage pipe, the Kentucky Department of Highways plans to close KY 89 (Winchester Road) in Estill County on Saturday, June 15th.

The road will be closed at milepoint 21.5 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. During this time, the road will be closed to all through traffic. This will affect travel between Winchester and Irvine.

No marked detour will be posted. Drivers will need to find an alternate route around the closure point. Local traffic can use KY 1886 and Race Track Road. Through traffic should use KY 82 and the Mountain Parkway through Powell County. Motorists should plan their trips accordingly.

In case of inclement weather, the closure will be postponed until a later date.
