Toyota Motor Maunfacturing of Kentucky awards $5000 grant to Lexington Rotary Club

Endowment to support "Surgery on Sunday"

LEXINGTON, KY – The Lexington Rotary Club Endowment, Inc. has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky (TMMK), Inc. to be used to support Surgery on Sunday, Inc. 

The Rotary Club of Lexington Endowment is the entity through which the Rotary Club of Lexington carries out its philanthropic activities without regard to race, creed, color, sex, nationality or age.  It is established to receive and disburse funds in support of the vocational, community and international avenues of Rotary Service. 

The Endowment provides funding for the club’s charitable giving which benefits young people, aged and disadvantaged persons and other eleemosynary groups that serve primarily the Fayette County, Kentucky, community. 

The generous grant awarded by TMMK will be disbursed to Surgery on Sunday (SOS), Inc., a non-profit organization that provides essential outpatient surgical services for free for those in need who cannot afford insurance and who are not eligible for federal or state programs. Patients are referred from existing organizations in the community and receive much needed surgical procedures.

SOS services are provided by doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to reach out to those in need.
