Toyota is the world's top automaker again.

The Japanese-based company has a big plant in Georgetown.

It lost its title as the top automaker after a Japanese earthquake last year and a series of safety recalls.

General Motors took the lead.

But now, Toyota says it's back on top after selling 4.97 million vehicles the first half of 2012.

GM says it sold 4.67 million during that same time.
