Tornado Hits Logan County

The National Weather Service says an EF-2 Tornado touched down in the Adairville community.
      The tornado touched down around two in the afternoon Monday in the normally quiet  cornfields of Logan County in the Adairville community.

     The tornado was on the ground for about five miles.

     Winds reached 135 miles per hour and took a handful of homes and livestock with it.

     Officials say three people were hurt but their injuries were non-life threatening.

     Numerous out buildings and three large grain bins were blown up to a quarter-mile away.

     The National Weather service says that same storm system moved northeast hitting Green, Taylor and Adair Counties.

     Some downed trees were reported in those counties, but no signs of any other tornadoes touching down.
