A wonderful tradition is here again in the Bluegrass.

Festivities for this year's Special Olympics Kentucky state summer games began Friday morning in Frankfort.

Participants of the Kentucky law enforcement torch run started their kickoff ceremony. It made its way from Frankfort to Lexington and on to Richmond.

That is where the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics summer games get underway Friday night.

More than 100 officers from law enforcement agencies throughout the state took part in the torch run.
