Troopers: 22-Month-Old Child Dies After Being Hit By Car In Barbourville

State Police said a 22-month-old child died after she was hit by a car in Barbourville.

Troopers were called to Maggie Cane Road around 2:45 Monday afternoon.

Investigators said a man driving a Mustang had stopped to wait for two small children to get out of the road.

According to State Police, the driver went to pull out and did not see the third child beside his car.

Investigators said the toddler fell under the vehicle and was hit by the back wheel.

Troopers said the little girl was taken to Knox County Hospital and was later flown to UK Hospital.

Investigators said she died around 7:30 p.m.

According to State Police, drugs and alcohol were not suspected in the collision.
