Georgetown College continued to roll along with a 49-7 win over Bluefield College Saturday at Toyota Stadium on iHigh.com Field.

Freshman Cody Wolfe took his first start and had a solid first half. He took them on three straight scoring drives in the first quarter that saw No. 16 Tigers (5-3, 3-1) never look back against the Rams (0-8, 0-4).

"Cody played very well considering the circumstances and throwing him to the wolves so to speak," said GC coach Bill Cronin. "He's a perfectionist, but it was awesome to see him step in like that."

He finished 11-of-18 for 162 yards, while also rushing 10 times for 14 yards. Boo Crabtree also saw action in the fourth quarter. The fellow freshman threw 1-for-1 with a 47-yard touchdown to Jacob Clair. He also rushed twice for five yards.

The defense pitched a near shutout against Bluefield. In two seasons, the Rams have managed just two offensive scores against the Tigers.

"Defense really stepped up today, which was also helpful in this situation," Cronin said. "We had two defensive scores in the third quarter that really helped to push us forward.

"Overall I think we kept the momentum that we started at Cumberlands. We are taking steps forward. That is what is important."

Georgetown returns to action 1:30 pm Saturday on the road at Union College.
