Clyde and his owner Ellen, walked from room to room brightening up patient's day. Clyde normally visits children, but today he made a special trip to help adult patients cope with their illnesses.

“It is important especially for people who don’t have a lot of family, and you’re feeling kind of blue and depressed, and they bring the dogs in and it brightens their day,” said Carla Tufts, a patient at the center.

U.K. Hospital says the goal of using therapy dogs is to help patient's social, emotional, and cognitive functioning. Clyde visits patients at U.K. Markey Cancer Center every Thursday.
