The committee heard testimony in favor of medical marijuana. Representative Robert Benvenuti says the state already has enough of a drug problem.Yes legal prescription drugs are the biggest problem. "When I read articles that medical marijuana is good for anxiety, I'll tell you right now that tells me one thing: It's open to abuse. And until I'm assured where the clinical evidence is, this is not going to have my support," said Rep. Benvenuti, (R-Fayette County). My comment to this comment is this: Yes KY has a drug problem...legal Prescription drugs are the biggest problem. Tea is good for anxiety so are baths......Robert Benvenuti comments are lame. Probably the lamest comments I have heard since I started the Kentucky Marijuana March in Paducha some 13 years ago. We had George Mcmahon come down from Iowa. He is another legal patient who smoked a joint in front of our attendees. We took him to the sheriff and warned him if he tried to stop George from lighting his joint we'd sue the city. He called on the phone several officials to ask if there was such a program that allows marijuana smoking called the I.N.D. program. He was told over and over no such program existed. He even called the Kentucky Governors office and was told no. Before we could walk out of his office he got a call from Washington D.C. telling him he'd had better not touch George and that we were telling the truth. The sheriff began pounding his fist on his desk screaming out loud!, "Those GDamned Lying MFers! How dare they lie to us policemen about this! I called every superior I had and they all lied to me !G** damnit!" So now we have another in the Capitol lying to the people and making stupid excuses that just don't work on us anymore. Is this the way you want Kentucky to be towards it's policemen and it's sick and dying tax payers? Nothing causes more anxiety than a cheating lying son of a b that is standing in the way of science and truth generated about this medicine for over 2000 yea

Why should YOU care about this? Just read these articles! “Marijuana May Slow Alzheimer's” (WebMD), “Pot compound seen as tool against cancer” (SFGate) “Smoked CANNABlS Reduces Some Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis” (UCSD), “Marijuana Compound May Help Stop Diabetic Retinopathy” (ScienceDaily), “CANNABlS for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease treatment” (NewsMedicalNet) These articles and many more, as well as the medical studies they are based on, can be found in “Granny Storm Crow’s List”- free online. There is more to marijuana than just getting high! Once the medical facts about CANNABlS become known, the need for full legalization becomes obvious!

Has anyone started a petition to recall Representative Robert Benvenuti for failure to represent his constituents on MMJ reform,,,we need a message sent to him and politicians like him that his personal opinion of marijuana as a medicine does not matter when 80% of the American people support marijuana as medicine in a country where governing the people is alleged to be by the people.

I praise House Representative Tom Burch for defending the sick and disabled KY citizens that want safe access. We are patients not criminal, and have been persecuted enough! If you would like to know more about the medical marijuana movement in KY please go to www.ky4mm.com
