A New Year’s celebration was cut short after two teens were shot in Lexington Monday night.

It happened just after 11:30p.m. at a building just off Village Drive.

Police said hundreds of people were at the building for a New Year’s Party when they responded to a report of a large disorder.

When they arrived, they said they discovered a 16 year old had been shot in the chest and a 15 year old had been shot in the hand.

Both were taken to UK Hospital with what police called non life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police 10-15 shots had been fired in total.

Police said they don’t have a lot of information about what led to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
