Teenager Charged With Murder Pleads Not Guilty

On Wednesday we learned more about the teenager accused of killing a clerk at a convenience store.

Only to be caught by police later; while he was shopping at the mall.

18-year-old Travis Bredhold appeared by video in court today. ABC 36's Mark Stitz was there.

Travis Bredhold is accused of shooting and killing gas station clerk Mike Patel during a robbery on Monday afternoon at a Marathon Gas station.

Bredhold appeared by video in court this afternoon in downtown Lexington. His public defender; plead not guilty to robbery and murder on his behalf. Court documents show when Bredhold was arrested at Fayette Mall Tuesday, he was carrying a loaded .380 caliber handgun, marijuana, and more than 5-hundred dollars in cash.

Pictures on Bredhold's facebook page show guns, ammunition, and large amounts of cash.
Bredhold's next court date has been set for next Tuesday.

His public defender won't say if he denies involvement in the shooting or robbery.

"this is about the earliest stage of a criminal case you can get and so in order to protect my client's interests, i really feel that there's only a few things i can say."

The memorial to Mike Patel - continues to grow outside the gas station where he worked.

Co-workers and customers have left notes to Patel and his family, along with flowers, stuffed animals and candles.
