A 19-year-old man has died after being hit by a train early Monday morning in Pulaski County, according to officials.

The Pulaski County Sheriff said Korey Nicholls was in the middle of the tracks close to Science Hill as the train approached.

Investigators said Nicholls was hit before the train was able to come to a complete stop.

Although it's not clear why he was standing on the tracks, the Sheriff said posts Nicholls had made on Facebook suggested he was there intentionally.
