Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call from Hindman Double Kwik on Kentucky 80. The caller stated a robbery had just occurred at the store.

The store clerk was outside at the fuel pumps when police say he was approached by an individual wearing a black ski mask, black pants, green jacket, boots and brandishing a handgun. The perpetrator and store attendant went inside the store where money and cigarettes were taken. The perpetrator then fled the scene in a passenger car.

A vehicle was later stopped on Kentucky 80 in the Emmalena Community of Knott County and a juvenile and an adult were detained. Further investigation led police to arrest of Jesse James Combs, 18, of Fisty. He was charged with Facilitation to Commit Robbery 1st Degree and Receiving Stolen Property Under $500 and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center.

The juvenile was released to his parents and no charges have been filed at this time. Warrants are being obtained on another adult involved in the crime. It was determined that this individual had fled from the vehicle just prior to the traffic stop.
