Police arrested Shane Hinkle, 38, Monday.

According to court documents, a female employee told police Hinkle touched her breasts and put his hand down her pants twice, on two separate occasions.  The employee said the first incident happened July 31, and again on August 4. She told police at least one incident was caught on camera.

The TSA released this statment Tuesday:

“Shane Hinkle is no longer employed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). TSA holds its employees to the highest ethical standards and expects all employees to conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism. After TSA leadership was notified of the allegations Aug. 6, the employee was immediately placed on administrative leave and the agency commenced an investigation.”

TSA Spokesman Jonathan Allen said Hinkle resigned from his position.

Hinkle faces four counts of sexual abuse.

His preliminary hearing is set for August 29 at 8:30 a.m.

There have now been four TSA screeners arrested in a month, three of them arrested for sex crimes. Last week another TSA screener, Larry Kobielnik, was arrested for sexual assault and attempted rape in Florida, a month after Massachusetts TSA employee Miguel Quinones was arrested for having child pornography on a laptop in his locker and Honolulu screener Tracy Leanne Owens was caught stealing cash from a passengers bag. This is typical of TSA which also continues to employ a known pedophile, Thomas Harkin, working at Philadelphia airport more a year after he was exposed. There have been 115 TSA workers arrested in the last 30 months including 20 arrested for sex crimes including 16 involving children, over 32 for theft, 12 for smuggling contraband through security and one for murder. It is long past time for TSA to be replaced with a system staffed by local police, not these criminals and misfits.
