'Sweet Blessings' Holds Bake-A-Thon To Benefit Children

Volunteers for the non-profit organization are working around the clock to bake birthday cakes for sick and underpriviledged children.
Dozens of bakers for the organization "Sweet Blessings" are working around the clock at Maxwell Presbyterian Church to help kids in need.

"Sweet Blessings" is attempting to make 50 birthday cakes for children ages 5 to 14 years old. The group said they work closely with social workers to find out what kids are in need. The group said they work every week, but there is their second year holding a 24-hour Bake-A-Thon. Volunteers said they hoped to deliver the cakes by 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Since the group is non-profit they are holding a fundraiser Tuesday night at Chick-Fil-A's in Lexington and Georgetown. The group said 10% of sales from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. will go to their organization.
