Authorities say they found suspicious packages at a federal facility in Whitley County.

A security supervisor at the consular center off of I-75 at exit 15 said one of the packages was found around 9:30 Tuesday morning, and a second one about 15 minutes later.

Hazmat teams and the FBI arrived at the scene. The supervisor says three employees in the mail room were exposed and decontaminated as a precaution.

Senator Mitch McConnell was supposed to tour the facility Tuesday afternoon, but that was canceled.

The substance was sent to Frankfort for further testing. The facility processes applications for visas, but does not make green cards.
