Lexington police are looking for a man they believe is connected to at least two recent carjackings in the area.

Police have issued warrants for the arrest of Wesley Rutherford.

The first warrant is for possession of a forged instrument.  Police say they believe Rutherford stole a vehicle at 1555 East New Circle Road on July 10th, 2012.

Police say Rutherford spoke to the victim, stole her vehicle, then headed to a nearby bank where he used her information to get money.

The second warrant is for robbery. The victim in this case has the same story: That a man, whom police believe to be Rutherford, spoke to her before stealing her vehicle. The victim was injured during the incident, though police didn't say how.

Investigators recovered the second stolen vehicle shortly after the incident.

Police say they'll continue to investigate Rutherford and whether he's connected to the other recent car thefts around Lexington.

Anyone with information about Rutherford's whereabouts should contact Lexington police.
