ABC 36 has surveillance video of a violent robbery attempt at a Lexington pizza place.

The video is from  L.A. Gourmet Pizza on West Main Street from Monday night around 8:45.

Police say a customer near the counter tried to steal a tip jar but someone working at the pizza place grabs it, and refuses to let him have it.

Eventually the worker runs around the counter and, with another worker, begins to fight with the suspect.

According to police the suspect hit one of the workers with a bicycle lock.

The workers were eventually able to get the man out of the restaurant without the tip jar.

Police aren't sure which way the man headed.
