Bourbon County students took a stance on smoking Wednesday afternoon, as part of national 'Kick Butts Day'.

Paris teenagers placed 13 hearts on the courthouse lawn. They said each one represents a heart attack that could be prevented in the county if all workplaces were smoke-free.

Bourbon County residents have been working on a campaign for 3 years now to protect workers from second-hand smoke. The health department says thanks to the campaign, the Bourbon County Court House and school grounds are smoke free.
