Some houses were burned down Friday in Lexington, all in the name of science.
Students at Eastside Technical Center in Lexington built miniature houses out of cardboard and plywood.
They were teamed up with retired Lexington firefighter and teacher Tim Marshall for the project.
They're learning about fire behavior, how fire starts and how quickly it spreads.
Some students even added accelarants like nail polish remover to their houses to see how it affects the stages of fire.
