Streets were closed and a hazardous materials team was called-in Tuesday afternoon in London following a traffic stop and the discovery of chemicals on a suspected stolen trailer, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said a suspected stolen trailer was spotted being pulled by a pickup truck in east London around 4:00 p.m.

Investigators said they recognized the pickup truck driver, Joshua B. Sizemore, 35, of London, as a wanted suspect, so they pulled him over in a business parking lot on 4th Street at Tobacco Road.

Deputies said they noticed a chemical smell coming from the trailer, which they said contained two placard barrels containing chemicals that were tentatively identified as a resin solution.

The solution is highly flammable and the vapors can be hazardous.

Investigators said Sizemore was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Tampering With Physical Evidence.  They said additional charges were pending.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

People were advised to avoid the east London area because of the potential for an explosion and the release of dangerous vapors.  Streets in the immediate area were shutdown.
