Stolen Items Found In Laurel County; Arrests Made

Police received a complaint from the victim of a theft and had observed a vehicle they say was involved on U.S. 25, one mile north of London.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Department received a complaint from the victim of a theft on Tuesday afternoon at 5:10 p.m.

Officers observed a vehicle suspected of being involved in the thefts on U.S. 25, onemile north of London.

Sheriff's deputies say that vehicle a silver Dodge pickup, was traveling northbound on U.S. 25. Authorities say the vehicle tried to elude deputies, but was stopped a short distance away. A male and female subject were inside the vehicle, and they were taken into custody.

The sheriff's department says the investigation determined that the subjects had written cold checks to at least two (or more) businesses in Laurel County purchasing items to include mattresses, carpet, and furniture, lumber, and then selling the stolen  items for cash to a woman on Keve Lane, six miles north of London.

Authorities say the woman was allegedly going to area businesses, and picking out items she wanted, and telling the two subjects what she wanted, and they would go and write cold checks at the businesses, and deliver the stolen items to her.

The two subjects taken into custody in the Dodge  pickup truck are identified as:(Husband and wife) Anthony M. Ayers,  39, of West Ky Highway 80, Combs, Ky and Linda C. Sizemore 35, of West Ky Highway 80, Combs, Ky. Both are charged with theft by deception, cold checks under $10,000 and third degree forgery. The checks the accused used were on a closed account.

Also arrested later was: Melissa R. Hill, 55, of Hwy 421, Stinnett, Ky (and also the owner of a mobile home on Keve Lane, off Old Hare Road, 6 miles north of London). She is charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.

Detectives and Deputies are still working to identify other victims regarding other property suspected of being stolen that was found at the mobile home on Keve Lane, whose owner is Melissa Hill. Those items include brand new refrigerator,  washer, dryer, a grill, weed eaters, tools and numerous other items.
