Summer is prime time for road and highway construction across Kentucky, but it can be dangerous for drivers and construction workers.

Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say to pay attention to the signs leading up to a construction area.

As you near the area, slow down, and don't use electronics like the radio or cell phone until you exit the work area.

Workers and flag holders can be near or even on the road, making for a dangerous situation, but drivers can be in just as much harm.

Transportation Cabinet numbers show that 4 out of every 5 victims in a work zone are passengers of cars.
