As kids in the area head back to school this week, Kentucky State Police are asking that you take extra care when driving around bus stops.

According to police, Kentucky had over 1,627 bus related crashes that caused 506 injuries and five deaths.

Police ask drivers to be cautious when maneuvering around buses and to watch for children getting on or off buses.

For students and their parents, they say stay back from the road until the bus approaches and when crossing the street always look for the bus driver's signals.
