But the emphasis was on 'serve' Thursday night as Troopers filled in for the regular chefs at BD's Mongolian Grill in Lexington.

Troopers were handing out food instead of speeding tickets during a fundraiser for 'Trooper Island'.

It's a camp for children who couldn't ordinarily go to camp.

Trooper Ron Turley went there himself.

He says, "Trooper Island is a very dear place in my heart. I call it the crown of the Kentucky State Police as we reach out to these youth and try to help them. It's been around since 1965, and Trooper Island speaks for itself."

Customers were also able to buy raffle tickets for a chance to win a Chevy Camaro.
