Governor Steve Beshear has ordered the flags on all state office buildings to be lowered to half-staff Saturday to honor a Kentucky soldier who died serving in Afghanistan.

27-year-old Spc. Christopher Landis of Independence was killed February 10 at Bagram Airfield when a rocket propelled grenade attacked his dismounted patrol.

Services for Spc. Landis will be held Saturday, but details are being withheld out of respect for the family.

Governor Beshear asks that all individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies join in the tribute.
